Sandwiches are among the easiest recipes to make, but among the familiar tried and true peanut butter and jelly, or baloney and cheese there are the stars. The Hero Sandwich Grill at Home
The hero sandwich is found in many restaurants, but it’s possible to make this delicious meal without making a special run to the takeout for a foot long loaf. This can be made at home with type of bread loaf as long as it’s a long, whole loaf. In a large bowl mix mushrooms, olives, chopped green bell pepper, oregano, and parsley with olive oil and lemon juice.
Next taking the bread loaf scoop out the inside and leave a ½ inch wall inside. Spoon 2/3 the mixture from the bowl onto the bottom half of the bread, and then layer on slices of turkey, salami, ham, lettuce and tomato on to the slices, and after spoon the remainder of the bowl on to the slices you will have the same unique taste that a trademark of the hero sandwich. Lightly grill the sandwich loaf until the bread is browned and the cheese is melted or place in a panini press. Cut the bread into the serving sizes you need and a hero is born.
Warm from the Grill
Using whole wheat bread turns a sandwich into a healthy and flavorful meal. Using some slices of roast beef and some butter its possible to have a very filling grilled sandwich. Butter the bread lightly, and the slices of roast beef. Grill until bread is lightly bread and the meat is warmed. Serve this sandwich still warm, and be amazed at how simple it is to make a grilled delight.
The Cheese, Bacon and Avocado
For this sandwich the bread should be ciabatta or bread with a similar consistency. Taking eight slices cut then diagonally. Cut up an avocado into eight slices and crisp 4 pieces of bacon, and then soften 3 tablespoons of butter. Place one slice of avocado on eight pieces of bread, and top with crumbled pieces of the bacon. Take one cup of cheddar or Colby cheese and cover the avocado and bacon. Putting the pieces of bread together to form a sandwich use the soften butter as a rub for both outside halves of bread and grill these until the cheese inside the bread is lightly melted.
The Easiest of All Grilled Sandwiches
Of course the best sandwich recipes are the easiest to follow, and most familiar. Lightly butter 4 slices of whole wheat bread, and on the non-buttered side place five slices of American cheese. With both halves of the bread buttered on the outside grill until the cheese is melted.
The Cuban Grilled sandwich
This recipe calls for 8 French rolls or Kaiser buns. On the buns layer dill pickle slices, and roast pork slices, and slices of Swiss cheese. Buttering the outside of the bread grill until the cheese is melted, but not so long as the rolls become too hard.
