Calphalon Reviews

There are many brands out there to choice from when buying nearly anything for the kitchen from cookware to electrical items.  Here we look to review one brand; Calphalon and why this brand might be suitable for you.

Calphalon was born in 1963 as a metal spinning company in Perrysburg, Ohio by a man named as Ronald Kasperzak.  His dream was to expand and upgrade the current limited range of aluminium cookware available across the food service industry.  By 1968, he was taking technology from the aerospace industry, of all places, and created hard anodizing techniques to treat raw aluminium.  Calphalon was born.

By the 1990s, Calphalon had introduced non-stick lines to its cookware range , followed by utensils and bakeware launches.  Late in the decade, hard anodized cookware launched which included their special Cool V handle technology.  After the turn of the millennium, Tri-Ply Stainless Steel was launched and the following year, cutlery was the new venture.  In more recent times, electrical appliances were the new area, with their first dedicated website opening in 2010.

Bakeware

The Calphalon bakeware range utilises their non-stick technology in the same manner as their cookware ranges.  They offer sets of differing items as well as the ability to buy specific single items you need.  Everything from pie pan sets, pizza pans to cooling racks, all are made to the same high standard as their other products.

Cutlery and tools

As with bakeware, Calphalon offer a range of knives which can be purchased in sets contained in differing styles of knife blocks or as singular products.  They also produce speciality products such as the Japanese santoku.  To co-ordinate with the knives are a range of chopping boards.

Under Kitchen Must-haves, Calphalon have a range of utensils and tools which compliment their other products.  These include stainless steel utensils to use with stainless steel cookware while nylon utensils are ideal for the non-stick ranges.  They also offer a range of products to help with safety in the kitchen such as splatter guards and easy grip gadgets.

Electrical appliances

The Calphalon range of electrical products includes blenders, coffee makers, grills and Panini makers, toasters and waffle makers.  They also produce larger items such as slow cookers and even convection ovens.

Cookware

At the heart of Calphalon has always been their cookware ranges and these still offer both the main options; stainless steel and non-stick.  They offer a range of sets containing different size pans in both finishes as well as extra, specialist items such as pressure cookers, roasting pans and soup or stockpots.  They also have a range of woks and stir fry pans in addition to griddle and sauté pans.
